Burrus tapped to lead Seneca Regional Planning Commission

The Seneca County Regional Planning Commission announced today Roxyanne Burrus, current President and CEO of Cartier Burrus LLC, has been selected to be its next Director. Burrus will replace the Jill Cooper-Griffin who resigned her position earlier in 2014. Ms. Burrus, an Auxiliary Professor at The Ohio State University and former Ohio Senate candidate, will begin her new role in early December once classes have been completed for the semester.
“This is a very good move for not only Tiffin; but all of Seneca County,” said Mayor Aaron Montz, President of the SRPC Board. “I am delighted that we were able to attract someone with the talent and background that Roxyanne brings to the table, the Commission is in excellent hands.” Seneca County Commissioner Fred Zoeller spoke positively about the hire stating “Ms. Burrus will need very little on the job training and will be able to step into her role day one and deliver results for Seneca County. Her experience is key to her hiring and I cannot wait to begin work with Roxyanne.”
Burrus had served twenty five years for the City of Columbus in the Development Department where she obtained millions of dollars in grants and collaborated with both state and federal officials on numerous projects. She obtained her Masters in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University and her BA in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles. “To bring someone of Roxyanne’s caliber into Seneca County to lead this organization is absolutely perfect timing. We have so much momentum between Tiffin and Fostoria and in the Commissioner’s office. This hire adds yet another tool to our tool belt to bring grants, jobs, and development into Seneca County,” said Fostoria Mayor Eric Keckler. “This is yet another opportunity for us to hit a home run and I definitely feel we did.”
